Lena on the Nest, 5/12/19
It was a very happy Mother’s Day! We checked on our loon pairs and found three of the four Upper Gull loon mamas on the nest!
Bobbie, formerly known as Hazel, on the nesting platform, 5/12/19
For 15 years, my neighbors Bob and Robert have been putting out this platform. And for 15 years, the loons have ignored it. If the loons didn’t use it this year, the guys were going to call it quits! Bob said it was 15 years of frustration and they had had enough of it! This year Hazel chose the platform! Her name has been changed to Bobbie in honor of Bob and Robert’s tireless efforts.
Bertsie on the Nest, 5/12/19
This is our third Upper Gull loon mama, Bertsie. She always makes a natural nest.
